Bones puntuacions pels vins d'Albert Jané

2009 Acustic Celler Blanc Montsant 92
($20; 60% garnatxa blanca, 25% macabeu, 10% garnatxa and 5% pansal) Light yellow-gold. Pungent, mineral-driven nose hints at fresh pear, tangerine and white peach, with toasty lees, chamomile and iodine qualities adding complexity. Juicy and tight, with bracing acidity and a strong iodine character to its deep orchard fruit flavors. This could pass for a very serious white Burgundy. Finishes firm and spicy, with the mineral element repeating. A remarkable value.

92

2007 Acustic Celler Brao Montsant
($40; a 50/50 blend of samso and garnatxa) Ruby-red. Intensely perfumed bouquet of red berry preserves, minerals and dried rose, with a touch of blood orange. A spicy, focused midweight that offers lively raspberry and cherry flavors and a seamless texture. Finishes with lingering sweetness, excellent clarity and a late note of white pepper, not unlike a high-end pinot noir. (Steve Miles Selections, Denver, CO)
